Sex therapy
What is Sex Therapy?
Sex Therapy is a specialized form of talk therapy that provides a space for exploration of identity, desire, and pleasure. Sexuality is a core part of who we are as human beings, but it’s often surrounded by silence, shame, or misinformation. Our goal is to create a safe, affirming space where you can explore your concerns, ask difficult questions, and rediscover what it means to feel connected, confident, and whole. Our Sex Therapists have advanced post-graduate training in sexual health, sex education, and relationship therapy. We treat a wide range of concerns including:
Low or mismatched desire
Difficulty with orgasm or arousal
Pain during sex
Performance anxiety
Communication and intimacy challenges
Sexual trauma and healing
Out-of-control or compulsive sexual behavior
Infidelity and trust repair
Kink, BDSM, or non-monogamy dynamics
Gender identity and sexual orientation exploration
Shame, religious or cultural sexual conditioning
Life transitions, such as pregnancy, postpartum, menopause, aging
How does Sex Therapy work?
Sex Therapy starts with getting to know you, your experiences, your needs, and your goals. This may be the first time you have explored or shared your experiences with sex, and we understand that. You set the pace. We will spend time together developing a plan to address your sexual concerns. Our approach to sex therapy is holistic.
We believe that our sexual selves are developed through our unique personalities, experiences, bodies and identities. As a result, plans for treatment are comprehensive and highly individualized. Based on treatment needs, sessions may focus on a single issue that is addressed through structured exercises, or it may be more intensive treatment that explores sexual development and identity. For some, sex therapy helps to strengthen their sexual relationships, for others it provides a safe space to individually develop self-acceptance and the courage to express their authentic selves.
